An experimental collaborative group show in preparation for the end of a world as we know it.
This spring we sowed our final seeds in preparation for our most colourful and complex blossoms. As we move ever closer to our inevitable end we should ask ourselves: “why not end on a harmonious and vivid explosion rather than a desperate whimper?” With this thought, we take a screenshot of our current world and explore the themes that enrich and colour our lives. Early memories, personal possessions, and our perception of time. We sit together as a collective to unravel dormant subconscious thoughts trapped in our memories and ask that such be submitted to us to store, archive and share.

We are working to create an online live collection of works and images by various artists. This project is very much inspired by Carl Sagans Arecibo message and Voyager Golden Record. (more info below)
Our collective’s work would be projected onto a screen through one of our gallery windows and available everyday of the festival to be viewed between certain hours (update soon)
We will also set up a live stream camera and invite artists and guest to come during a set time during the working dates to do a performance or show any art work of their choice to the camera. the camera would record and stream the random events directly onto our capsule page.
In this the Gallery becomes the observer as the audience become the artist itself. Creating a borderless realm between where art is created and art is shown.
——————————————————————–
The Arecibo message is a 1974 interstellar radio message carrying basic information about humanity and Earth sent to globular star cluster M13. This contained all sorts of information from our DNA to scientific and technological achievements.
The Voyager Golden Records are two phonograph records that were included aboard both Voyager spacecrafts launched in 1977. The records contain sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth and are intended for any intelligent extraterrestrial life form who may find them. The records are a sort of time capsule.
Our time capsule will be created in an online platform that can be viewed but not edited. The submissions will all be accepted as a means to archive as much of a torrent describing our current artist and followers network. This means the gallery will be constantly growing and changing. We will create a simple submissions format through our website and a way to directly browse the gallery online.
